Alpine
Serving the Children of the World
The Kiwanis Club of Alpine is part of a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.

Win this 1972 Volkswagen Convertible or a multitude of other great prizes at the Kiwanis Cook Shack Benefit on September 11th, and help the Alpine Kiwanis renovate the old, infamous "Cook Shack".  For details, visit http://kiwanisraffle.com.

We are the third largest Kiwanis Club in our District (California, Nevada and Hawaii), and have established a reputation for excellence within Kiwanis International as one of the largest and most active clubs.

Our Club has donated over $726,000 to Rady Children's Hospital since 1986!

We were named "Organization of the Year" at the 2009 Alpine Leadership and Public Service Awards for the second year running. We also received the 2009 Alpine Sun Newsmaker Award!  Our 2008-09 President, Dan Foster, received the Club's Member Recognition Award.  At the 2009 District Convention, we received an award for the Best Website in the Cal-Nev-Ha District.  At the 2010 District Convention we received an award for the Best Newsletter in the Cal-Nev-Ha District.

We are known not only for our service to the children of the world, especially those living in Alpine, but also for our camaraderie and fellowship, and for the fun we have making our community a better place for everyone.

When asked, "What makes the Kiwanis Club of Alpine so sucessful?", member Charles Nelson replied,

"It is the work.  The work we do is the engine for building and maturing the club. People who join the club are from all walks of life but have in their heart something in common. That is a desire to improve the quality of life in their community and to help children grow and live life successfully. The work provides an opportunity for members to work together forming teams and expanding acquaintenance with each other. Our common motives quickly build mutual appreciation of each other.  The teamwork matures and builds a family and we care about each other. This process that makes such a contribution to community and children yields an unmatched experience for all of us."

The Alpine Challenge Bike Ride benefiting Rady Children's Hospital and the Alpine Challenge Scholarship fund was a great success, attracting seasoned mountain bikers and family participants alike.
