JMMS Students Win National Competition! - 01/06/2018

JMMS students, Hayden Loarie and Ramses Lara, attended our meeting to share details of how they took the National title in the Junior Solar Sprint Competition in Orlando FL with their solar powered car built with 3D printers.  Our club helped finance their trip to participate in this competition.

GymTrix Treats Us to a Performance - 12/16/2017

Our club has often provided funding to help the Alpine GymTrix kids travel to national competitions.  They said thank you today with a delightful performance!  The Alpine Kiwanis helps our local youth in a wide variety of different ways.

Bill Lewis Joins the Alpine Kiwanis - 12/09/2017

We were honored to welcome Bill Lewis as the club's newest member this morning.  Bill was formerly with the El Cajon Valley Kiwanis Club.  He has already been a big help with our Soap Box Derby, even before joining us as a member.

Christmas Performance by Granite Hills Choir - 12/09/2017

Twice a year, our members are treated to a special performance of the Granite Hills High School Choir, an organization we have been supporting for the past 20 years.  As always, the very talented teenagers did a great job of entertaining us with a wide variety of Christmas Carols.

Kerry Parsons Receives President's Award - 11/18/2017

Kerry Parsons was honored this morning with the President's Award by Immediate Past President Pene Manale for her exemplary work in handling the Facilities role for the first time at our Vintage Alpine event.

Best Kiwanis Chili Trophy Goes to Greater Jamul! - 11/03/2017

At our recent Chili Cook-off, several Kiwanis teams competed for the honor of bringing home the cherished Perpetual Trophy for Best Kiwanis Chili.  Our 2016-17 President Pene Manale presented this award to the President of Greater Jamul, Kermit Wadhams, at our first Division Council Meeting of the year with Lieutenant Governor Greg Fox.

Kids Have a Blast at Soap Box Derby - 10/28/2017

Approximately 30 children competed in our exciting Soap Box Derby in which children race gravity powered cars down a gentle hill.   We were pleased to have the help of approximately 40 high school students from the Granite Hills Key Club we sponsor.

Ray Sopfe Installed as New Alpine President - 10/07/2017

Lieutenant Governor Greg Fox Jr. installed Ray Sopfe as the Alpine club's 2017-18 President at an Installation Dinner with a fun Oktoberfest theme.

Best Chili by Alpine Country Feed and Supply! - 10/03/2017

This year our participants voted for Best Chili, and there were lots of great chilis to choose from!  First Place went to Alpine Country Feed and Supply, Second Place to Dragon Fire Chili, and the Head East Pirates took Third Place and Best Decorated Booth!  In addition, this was the first year that participants also chose the Best Kiwanis Chili who took home a perpetual trophy.  First Place went to Greater Jamul Chili out of four Kiwanis entries competing!

Alicia Sanchez Recognized - 09/28/2017

At the September meeting of the Alpine Kiwanis Too group, incoming Secretary Pam Price recognized Alicia Sanchez for the Face Painting she does which has enhanced many of our recent events.

President Greg Fox surpised Louise Phipps with the Key Club Advisor pin and the added the Kiwanian of the year pin tab from the 2013 -14.
